Career Technical Education

Career and Technical Education At Peabody Veterans Memorial High School
PVMHS is a comprehensive high school offering five programs in Career Technology Education including Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Electronics, Medical Assisting, and Criminal Justice. All six programs are approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and as such, are closely monitored by the DESE.
Students enter the CTE Exploratory program in 9th grade as they explore each area. Students rotate through each program for the first semester and are graded each day. After this experience, the student will choose three areas of concentration and will be placed on academic grades, conduct, and attendance.
This introduction is followed by three years of progressively intensive study in their chosen field. During this time, students are encouraged and directed to concentrate on local, state and national certifications and licenses. Many students graduate with a certificate and an OSHA 10-hour general certificate. The CTE programs have articulation agreements with local colleges which sets students enrolled in these programs on a pathway to post-secondary education while still enrolled in high school.
Peabody Veterans Memorial High School does not discriminate against students, parents, employees or the general public based on race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, age or homelessness.
