Early Childhood Education

The field of Early Childhood Education is one of the fastest growing professions in Massachusetts, with plentiful career opportunities available to well-educated child care professionals. Our Early Childhood Education program at PVMHS is designed to prepare students for professional careers of caring and teaching with an emphasis placed on the development of young children. Students will explore the career ladder of early childhood education and become familiar with the education requirements for various job opportunities. Students gain experience of a variety of “ages and stages” as well as different teaching styles. The information gained in the theory of child development is also applied with the practical experiences while working with young children in our very own “Little Tanners Preschool” here at PVMHS. Graduates will possess the necessary skills to be employed as workers in the early childhood field or may choose to continue in their education at the post-secondary level.  “Little Tanners Preschool” on-site laboratory preschool where students have the opportunity to observe and participate under the supervision of certified teachers and child care professionals.
