Peabody Cosmetology Family Rallies Community to Support Two Students Facing Life-Changing Challenges

October 9, 2026

For Peabody Public Schools, “Every Student, Every Day” is more than a motto; it is a commitment to the entire Peabody family, a commitment that continues long after a student graduates. This November, that spirit of support will take center stage as students, alumni, local businesses, families and friends come together for a special Cosmetology Benefit supporting two members of the Peabody community facing unimaginable challenges.

The benefit will be held on Nov. 9, from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., and will raise funds for Jennessey, a beloved former Peabody Cosmetology student who is battling cancer, and Victor, a current student who lost his home in a fire this summer.

Organized by Peabody Cosmetology instructors Kristen Childs and Cecilie Boga, the event will distribute 100% of the proceeds to Jennessey and Victor, reflecting the close-knit relationships that extend beyond students’ graduation from Peabody Public Schools.

“No matter what grade you graduated, you are always a part of the Peabody family,” said Childs. “This event is about coming together as a community to support Jennessey and Victor and show them that they are not alone.”

The afternoon will feature and include the following:

  • Hair and beauty services
  • Raffle baskets and prizes
  • Bake sale
  • Local salons and businesses
  • Opportunities for the community to give back

For local salons and beauty professionals, the event also provides an opportunity to connect with the Peabody Cosmetology community, showcase their talents and services, network with other professionals and connect with potential clients, all while supporting an important cause.

The benefit is open to the entire community. Anyone who has been part of the Peabody Public Schools family, residents and local businesses are asked to come together and show their support.

“This is more than a fundraiser,” said Boga. “This is a reminder of what can happen when a community stands together in support of their own.”

“This benefit is a powerful example of what makes the Peabody Public Schools community so special,” said Superintendent Josh Vadala. “Whether a student is currently sitting in one of our classrooms or graduated years ago, they remain an important part of our school family. When members of our community face difficult and unexpected circumstances, we come together to lift them up, and I am incredibly proud of our Cosmetology program, our staff, students, alumni and local partners for showing Jennessey and Victor that they do not have to face these challenges alone.”

Community members and local businesses interested in volunteering and donating items or services are asked to RSVP by Nov. 2 by contacting:
