June 2024 ELPAC Meeting

Attention: ALL PPS Parents and Guardians of Multilingual Learners

You are invited to attend the parent-led English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) meeting and officer elections on Tuesday, June 18th!

Who: Parents and guardians of multilingual learners enrolled in grades K-12 in the Peabody Public Schools 

What: Join fellow multilingual families in a safe, private environment to support one another, ask questions, and discuss topics related to your child’s success in school. Jennifer Sanchez from Citizens Inn will present various resources available to the community. Additionally, interested parents/guardians will have the opportunity to add their names to the ballot and/or vote for next year’s ELPAC officers. For more information about the PPS ELPAC, or if you are considering serving as an ELPAC officer next school year, please visit peabodyelpac.weebly.com for more information.  Interested parents/guardians must attend the election on June 18th to announce their candidacy and be added to the ballot, and/or to vote for the 2024-25 officers.

Where: Higgins Middle School auditorium

When: June 18, 2023 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Why: PPS parents and 2023-24 ELPAC co-presidents, Franciele Mendes and Denize Vassao, will facilitate this last meeting of the 2023-24 school year. They will communicate parents’ questions and concerns to school and district officials as part of a collaborative effort to provide Peabody’s multilingual families with the resources and support they need, and to improve the educational experiences of our multilingual students.

Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole interpreters will be available!

Activities for the children will be available. 

Light refreshments will be served.
